The Strings of Gold began in 2000 by Three sisters, MaeLynn, Danae, and Sarah Arnold.

The Strings of Gold began because…. They loved to play Mozart and they were so inspired by his music that they began performing with a zeal that has inspired audiences of all ages.

MaeLynn…. Eighteen, plays lead violin in the Strings of Gold. She was a recent soloist with the Lakeland Civic Orchestra. She has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra as Concertmaster. MaeLynn performed in Boston University's Tanglewood Summer Festival as Concertmaster for the festival orchestra in the summer of 2005. She will be performing with the Toledo Symphony this spring 2006. MaeLynn plays in the Oberlin Conservatory Orchestra. She has performed in the winter Opera Orchestra for Oberlin Conservatory. She is also an active violin teacher. She studies with Milan Vitek, professor of violin at the Oberlin conservatory of music.

Danae …. Sixteen, plays cello in the Strings of Gold. She plays with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.Danae has also played in the Oberlin Conservatory Opera Orchestra in the winter of 2005. She was among the winners at the Cleveland Cello Society's concerto competition in 2002. Danae has been a featured soloist with the Lakelnd Civic Orchestra. Danae played in Interlochen's Advanced String Quartet series in the summer of 2005. Danae has studied with Cleveland Orchestra cellist, Brian Dumm, Regina Mushavac at Baldwin Wallace and Peter Reito at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

Sarah…. Fourteen, plays violin in the Strings of Gold. At the age of eight Sarah began appearing as soloist with professional orchestras. Sarah appeared as soloist with the Akron Symphony Orchestra performing on the stage of the E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in Akron, Ohio. She performed as soloist with the Toledo Symphony in 2004.Sarah has won many competitions and has received scholarships to study at Kinhaven, CREDO, and Interlochen Music Camps.Sarah lead the Interlochen Orchestra as Concertmaster in the summer of 2005.Sarah played in the Oberlin Conservatory Opera Orchestra for winter term 2005. Sarah has played in the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. She studies with Marilyn McDonald, professor of violin at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

The Strings of Gold Family…. Composed of seven people, four sisters, MaeLynn, Danae, Sarah, Marilee(Sarah's twin) and brother, Danny Jr. Dan, their father is a band director and mom, Cara is a studio violin teacher, arranger and current manager of the Strings of Gold. The children are home schooled by their mother, Cara.

Strings of Gold adventures…. Have taken them to public libraries, schools, colleges, festivals, galleries, senior centers, churches, Salt Fork Lodge, Great Wolf (Bear) Lodge, ball rooms, The Tall Ships Festival, Allen Theatre, the Medina Arts Star Series, restaurants, the heart of Amish country, and countless other places.

The Strings of Gold has toured! Borders Books invited the Strings of Gold to tour the Cleveland/ Akron area stores last Christmas to promote their newest CD, "Injoy".

Newspaper Articles have appeared.. In the Chronicle Telegram, Oberlin Tribune, Sun Times, and the Medina County Gazette. The newspapers love them and give them front page and whole page coverage .
Radio listeners have enjoyed the Strings of Gold…. Strings of Gold has been featured on several local radio stations this year. They performed live on WOBL ,The FISH, and WCRF recently to introduce their new CD titled "Soundshades" The Strings of Gold appeared with local television and radio personalities, Andre Bernier from Fox Eight and Mark Zimmerman, WCRF, on the nationally broadcast live radio show , Soup Du Jour at the Akron Baptist Temple in December 2003.

Television audiences viewed the Strings of Gold…. 2003 Christmas Day, they were invited to play for a special seasonal special aired on PAX Television for the famous Stan Hyett Hall and Gardens in Akron, Ohio. The Strings of Gold was especially honored to have been invited to perform in the famous and elaborate music room in the mansion. PAX also recently aired a T.V. special segment centered on the Strings of Gold. The Strings of Gold has also appeared on FOX 8, including this past Christmas season, and Lorain County Community Colleges NOW Show.

Paintings and sketches…. have been created of the Strings of Gold as Medina county artists were so taken by their poise as they performed that they enlisted them for a project which involved them playing as they were drawn by five artists.

Invitations to perform…. Have been accepted as the Strings of Gold performed in the Medina Performing Arts Foundation's Star Series this past season. They premiered "Soundshades" at the Grace Drake Performing Arts Hall, located on the historic square in Medina, Ohio. The Strings of Gold has also performed at Stocker Center's Lecture Hall Parkside Church Recital Series at the Commons, They have presented concerts at the famous Hoover Auditorium at Lakeside Park in Sandusky and have performed at the Cleveland Museum of Art Friday Evening Concert Series.

The Strings of Gold outreaches school audiences…The string trio has enjoyed sharing their love of music in area school music classes and presents varied concerts for children of all ages. They present concerts of varying musical styles as well as presenting music with narratives such as "Peter and the Wolf". Their performances are interesting, informative and comical as they are sisters!!!

The Strings of Gold supports…. CREDO Christian Music Camp where they have performed and participate in community out reach in the summer. They also contribute financially to the scholarship fund to aid other aspiring young musicians.

Soundshades.... a wonderful CD that the Strings of Gold produced in the spring of 2003. The CD is a wonderful assortment of classical, folk and arranged love songs from the WW1 and WW11 era. They created this CD to encourage people during this war time.

Injoy… the newly released Strings of Gold Christmas CD featuring traditional carols arranged with classical tunes, love songs, and more Christmas carols for something familiar but new. This CD emphasizes, for Christmas time or anytime, the glorification of our Lord and the rememberance of what an unconditional gift was and is offered by Jesus Christ, which has been received by so many.
The response has been terrific! Audiences love Soundshades. People are being touched by the performance of these three, young sisters. Some familiar quotes are: they pull at my heart strings, I'm delighted, I feel so good, an incredible feeling of joy, Soundshades is an emotional rollercoaster, I feel so blessed and uplifted, and praise God!
